Participate in Depiction by Media Artist Parasol B
March 1 ? May 31 2013

@Vimala?s Curryblossom Cafe
431 W. Franklin St, Chapel Hill, NC 27516

Depiction is an art installation that encourages community participation via smartphone.

To Parasol B, mixing media means painting large QR codes that can be scanned with a smartphone to decode additional meaning. In the case of Depiction, the painted QR code reveals a map of sites around downtown Chapel Hill to go to, take a photograph according to certain instructions, and submit to a central website via another QR code. It all adds up to a virtual community art project online. Any smartphone with a QR scanner can be used, but for iPhone users there is a free parasol b app.

Depiction is a part of Windows on Chapel Hill, presented by the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership and Town of Chapel Hill Public and Cultural Arts Office.

Gather a group of friends or join the artist for a walking tour of the photo sites. If you are interested in a scheduling a walking tour with Parasol B for your group, email parasol@parasolb.com.

The main exhibit runs from March 1 ? May 31 2013, but here are some specific events:
Friday March 8: Opening Reception, 6-8 pm
Saturday March 16, Walking tour, 2-4 pm
Saturday May 11, Walking tour, 2-4pm

Download the free parasol b iPhone app.
