Prince Harry jokes about nude snaps at charity awards

Prince Harry made light of his recent exploits in his first public appearance since naked photographs of him in a Las Vegas hotel room surfaced on the internet.

Speaking at a London awards ceremony for seriously ill youngsters and their carers, Harry conceded it would be difficult to adequately describe their achievements.

"But never one to be shy in coming forward, I'll give it a go," he said to laughs from the audience.

However, the prince acted swiftly to ensure a six-year old boy, who earlier threatened to embarrass the royal, behaved himself.

Alex Logan was asked by ITV News before the ceremony what he would say to the royal and replied: "I'm glad you've got your clothes on Prince Harry".

Debbie Logan, the youngster's mother, later revealed that Harry said to her son "you keep looking up at your mum, looks like you're dying to say something but you know she will tell you off.

"I heard you were on ITV earlier, you said something cheeky, let's not talk about that here," added the prince.

Harry, 27, was photographed naked with a mystery woman during a game of "strip billiards" in a Las Vegas hotel suite.

The images, first published on a US website last Wednesday, rapidly went viral and caused a furore in Britain.

Harry was speaking at the awards ceremony for WellChild, a UK-based charity of which he is patron.

Blues stun Hawks in season opener - Athletics & Recreation

Laurier: 0 Toronto: 19
[View Stats]

TORONTO (September 3, 2012) - The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks football team struggled in their opening game of the season as they were defeated by the Toronto Varsity Blues by a score of 19-0 on Monday night at Varsity Stadium.

Laurier, who lost to Toronto for the first time since 1996, failed to move the ball with consistency in the game, generating just 190 total yards.

"We're disappointed for sure," commented Head Coach Gary Jeffries after the game. "We've got a lot of young kids, a lot of new kids. We knew it would take us some time to get things together."

Both Laurier and Toronto were slow out of the gate in their season openers as neither team generated much offence in the first quarter. The Hawks and Varsity Blues combined for just 54 yards, which resulted in a 0-0 score line after 15 minutes.

Toronto would open the scoring four minutes into the second quarter after a botched punt by Laurier kicker Ronnie Pfeffer of Kitchener, Ont., set up the Blues on the Hawks two yard line. Two plays later, Blues quarterback Richard Quittenton of Ajax, Ont., punched the ball in from the one yard line but a missed convert kept the score 6-0.

As the Hawks continue to move the ball through the air, the Blues kept up the pressure and late in the half, connected on a 27-yard field goal to take a 9-0 lead at the half.

Laurier's defence continued to shine in the third quarter limiting the Blues to just a single point, giving the offence a chance to mount a late rally.

However, all hopes of that were put to rest three minutes into the final quarter when Quittenton punched in his second rushing major of the game, extending Torontos lead to 17 and putting the game out of reach.

The Hawks attempted one last drive late in the fourth quarter in an attempt to avoid the shutout but Emans pass to running back Tyrrel Wilson of Hamilton, fell through his hands, handing the purple and gold their first shutout loss in 27 years.

"We were kind of flat coming out," said Eman. "Once we got down we didn't look ahead. We're going to get better, we're a young team and we're going to get better with experience."

Eman would finish the first start of his OUA career a disappointing 8-for-27 through the air for 122 yards while adding a team-high 62 rushing yards. His counterpart Quittenton was 16-for-25 for 157 yards.

Laurier will attempt to rebound this Saturday when they host the No. 6 Queens Gaels at Knight-Newbrough Field in their home opener. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be broadcast live on theScore.

NOTES: Lauriers last shutout loss came at the hands of the York Yeomen back in 1984 when they lost 16-0...Rookie defensive back Anthony Petrucci of Sarnia, Ont., had an outstanding game in his Hawks debut finishing with six tackles and one sack...Felix Odum of Pickering, Ont., led the team with seven total tackles...Toronto rookie running back Ashton Nelson of Brampton, Ont., ran for 119 yards in his Varsity Blues debut...Attendance at the game was 4,397

Atomslagstyrken ? Progress with the GPS tracker - Harris Kelly 67's ...

For the GPS Tracker project I?ve been working on ? struggling with, actually ? getting all the communications subsystems working. I need to use UART for communication with the GSM module, soft UART (since the LPC11U24 has only one hardware UART port) for the GPS module and USB CDC for command and debugging.

And apart from the occasional programming blunders (like forgetting to increase a pointer when iterating elements in an array) I?ve had lots and lots of weird problems. But I finally got UART and soft UART working together and then I took a really long, hard look at the example USB CDC code I?ve been working with.

And it turned out that I needed to change a couple of things:

  1. The linker script (which should be for an LPC11U24 device) specified a RAM size of only 4 KB. This has been fixed to specify an SRAM size of 6 KB.
  2. The USB interface was initialized with a memory buffer at was was, in effect, an arbitrary place in the SRAM memory. The original code used usb_param.mem_base = 0x10001000 and usb_param.mem_size = 0x1000.
For an LPC11U24, location 0x10001000 is at two thirds up in the SRAM area (which is from 0x1000000 to 0x10001800).
This has now been changed to use usb_param.mem_base = 0x20004800 and usb_param.mem_size = 0x0800 pointing to the top of the USB RAM area with a size of 2 KB (which is the size of the USB RAM).
  3. My USB_CDC_send() function calls the WriteEP directly. This has been changed to copy data into a serial fifo buffer and calling WriteEP from the VCOM_bulk_in_hdlr() function when the USB host requests data. And the max packet size is also observed now.

And with these changes in place I was rewarded with the following session on the USB CDC terminal connection:

sys test OK - Response from SYS TEST sys version OK - b155 on 2012-09-02 13:34:17 +0200, git 31db1bb904695fc5347a136dbf2c819520162099 gps status OK - GPS status: 1, sats: 6/12, time: 121246.854, lat: 5538.7522N, lng: 01233.1385E

Nice :)

Next steps are getting the ADC working for monitoring the battery level and implementing the interface for the GSM module.

Interesting Ideas And Tips For Achieving Physical Fitness

If you are seeking a change and looking to get into shape, but aren?t quite sure where to begin, well you came to the right place. With motivation and some simple advice, you can get fit in no time!

Training your eyes for faster focus will help any game associated with a ball. Move closer to the net than you usually do whenever you play and you will force your eyes to react more quickly each time your opponent hits you the ball. Your reaction time will also improve.

Don?t let your age get in the way of your decision to pursue a gym membership. Fitness centers are not just for the young. Memberships for people of any age who are interested in fitness are becoming more popular. Have a conversation with customer service or the front desk about any sessions particularly focused towards your age group. See what options they have. The more you go there and exercise with others, the more comfortable it will become.

TIP! You have to make sure you are drinking enough water when you exercise for over 30 minutes. You should begin the hydration process one hour before you begin exercising, and should continue one hour after exercising.

Work out at your residence. Many exercises can be accomplished at your home, including push-ups, pull-ups, crunches, lunges, and squats. Try lifting some dumbells when you are working out or even some resistance bands. A jump rope is all you need for cardio exercise.

You should get around a half-hour of cardio every day. This strengthens your heart and other muscles, improves your health and helps you lose weight. Just remember that your body needs time to recover from cardiovascular exercise; the longer you work out, the more time you?ll need.

Dips are great for your body. Dips target your shoulders, triceps and chest, and are an incredible exercize. There are other ways to do these as well. One way is to position yourself between two benches. If you want, you can add weights.

TIP! You cannot hope to get fit by simply working out alone. Eating right is important and necessary.

Try fitness classes with your friends to increase your level of motivation. Changing your routine gives you the opportunity to find new activities and classes that will motivate you to go to the gym. Try kickboxing or yoga. You might also try kickboxing or signing up for a boot camp class. If you don?t like a class, you don?t have to go back, and you will have burned some calories.

Start a garden. Many people do not understand that it is a considerable amount of work to start a garden. It requires digging, weeding, and a great deal of squatting down in the dirt. Gardening can be an excellent way to keep fit and exercise your body.

Get the most out of your workouts by making them more ?dense.? The more exercises you can fit into a shorter time, the better your weight loss results will be. Achieve this by limiting the breaks that you take to reduce downtime. Your weight loss will be increased by this method.

TIP! In order to improve your running, try lifting weights. Runners don?t typically think of weight training as a way to improve their running, but it can! Studies have shown runners who use weights can run further and faster, with less fatigue, than runners who do not lift weights.

Pay your trainer in advance to keep you motivated to complete all training sessions. By doing this, most likely, you will attend your training sessions because you already paid and don?t want to lose out on all that money.

If you want to maximize your fitness results, count all calories taken in and burned through exercise. Knowing exactly how much you eat each day is important, because it helps you monitor whether you are likely to gain or lose weight. By keeping your calories at maintenance level or less, and losing calories through exercise, you?ll be fit in no time.

TIP! 17 inches is often an odd approximation that major golfers use to improve their putting. Simply aim 17 inches beyond the hole and put straight ahead.

Use the advice you read above to get in shape and start feeling better. Take into account that if you truly want to get fit that you have to not only know what to do, but actually implement those strategies into your everyday life.
